Mark at the beach

Yours truly posing in front of the beach boxes at Brighton

As Mandy said we would, today we went down to the beach. Brighton beach to be specific. Upon arrival it was quite chilly, as the sun wasn’t very hot and there was a cool sea breeze which didn’t help. But once we had laid our towels out, slapped on some sunscreen and lay down, it was soon nice and warm. Thankfully we chose today to go instead of later in the week, as the next few days are expected to be scorchers. Didn’t end up swimming at all, the weather wasn’t inclement to that particular beach activity.

After our short time on the beach we tried to find somewhere to eat. With it being a public holiday and all the fish & chip shop closest to us was shut, so we drove down to Acland Street St Kilda, which was open and lively. Mandy got herself an Aussie burger, I had chicken souvlaki and we shared chips.

Back at home we watched some Friends, had iced chocolates (since I failed at making milkshakes. No boys came to my yard, their lives are not better than yours). Dinner was appropriate for the day, a BBQ.

Papercraft Zebra

Papercraft Equus quagga (Zebra, for those that don't know scientific names)

Now, on to a non-food related activity (amazing huh? we actually do other stuff sometimes). Papercrafting! Working cooperatively, with Mandy on scissors and I with the glue, we managed to successfully make a zebra. The design had many parts, lots of curved surfaces, but the creators at Toyota (the papercraft patterns come from a Toyota calendar) are damn good, and it was amazingly easy in the end. The finish product looks good, though I forgot to curve the ears correctly.
